“Over the past 20 years I have had the opportunity to work directly and indirectly with Dorothy Calegari and her dedicated staff at Association Management Services. She and her staff at AMS provided the management services for the California Land Surveyors Association (CLSA) and the CLSA Education Foundation for nearly 40 years. As a past chapter director, liaison to the state professional board, chair of many different committees, the President of CLSA in 2011, and the chair of the Education Foundation, I have always admired Dorothy’s dedication, professional integrity, and her ability to manage complex situations where meeting schedules and having detailed organization was imperative. She and her team at AMS managed annual conferences with meals, hotel accommodations, workshops, entertainment, special events, guest speaking, AV equipment, and other ceremonies were involved. They did all of this with a small dedicated team and usually with perfection. They were responsible for committee conference meetings and conference calls, travel scheduling for officers, committee directors, chapter directors, liaisons, and committee members. They also managed the quarterly Board of Directors meetings where Dorothy sat as the Executive Director. These all-day meetings usually had reports from 15-20 different committees, 23 chapters, and were usually in excess of 200 pages. This board is currently comprised of over 50 directors. Again the level of excellence and professionalism established by Dorothy and her staff was always near perfection. On a more personal note, during the time I was an officer between 2008 and 2012, I built a special relationship with Dorothy whereby she and I would regularly discuss difficult situations where diplomacy and action was needed by the President and/or Executive Director. During this time I developed the utmost level of respect and trust for Dorothy and would proudly state that she always met or exceeded my expectations.”
